Why is renting a better option?
Technology improves so quickly it doesn't make sense to buy it outright. There are many benefits of renting including:
- Spreading out the cost of the equipment over it's useful life.
- Ability to keep up to date with the latest technology through renting.
- Not having to spend a lump sum up front.
- Ability to get better equipment through renting than by buying.
- You can save your cash for something else you need. For example, invest
your money back into your mortgage, credit card bills, loan repayments etc.
What is included in my agreement?
Along with your rental equipment, also included in your agreement is:
- rent-CCTV's Upgrade Advantage where you can get your last 3 monthly payments free when you choose to upgrade during your term
When would I get my new equipment?
Straight away! Get approved online now by clicking the 'Apply Now' button below then take your approval notice into your nearest CCTVwa store. Once all criteria has been met you can walk away with your new equipment.
Who can cctv-RENT?
The basic criteria for cctv-RENT is you need to be:
- Over the age of 18 years old.
- An Australian citizen or permanent resident.
- Employed with a salary of at least $30,000 a year, or if applying on behalf of business, the business must be a Sole Trader, Partnership or Company*
What is the duration of a RentSmart plan?
Your choice of either 2, 3 or 4 years.
What are the payment methods?
First payment in-store needs to be made by credit card or EFTPOS, then all future payments are made monthly via direct debit transfer or credit card.
Can I add additional Services to my plan, such as extended warranty?
Getting extra support, peace of mind and a greater range is easy to add to your plan from a few extra dollars per week.
Can I update my equipment or add new equipment to my rental plan?
You can. Contact CCTVwa.com on (08) 9248 7111 and they'll help you choose your best option.
What happens at the end of my cctv-RENT agreement?
cctv-RENT offers you 4 flexible options:
- Upgrade Advantage: Simply return your old equipment and update to the latest technology throughout your term, and you can receive your last 12 monthly payments free.
- Return: You simply return your rented equipment to cctv-RENT at the end of the rental term.
- Continue: If you're happy with your technology you can continue to rent your existing kit at a reduced rate for 12 months or continue renting month by month.
- Purchase: We can also offer you the option to purchase your equipment at the end of the term from cctv-RENT at a fair market value. *cctv-RENT is under no obligation to sell the equipment to you.
What is 'fair market value'?
It's the price you'd expect to pay for your equipment in the marketplace.
What is the interest rate?
The agreement is for rental of the equipment, not a loan agreement or hire purchase agreement, therefore what you pay is a monthly rental for the equipment, not interest.

Why is renting computer equipment a better option?
Because it's good for your cash flow and saves you money by spreading the cost of your equipment over its useful life.
If I don’t finish my application, do I have to start again?
The easiest thing to do is let our customer care team finish it off for you. Just give them a ring on (08) 9248 7111
If I apply now, how long does my approved value last for?
You have 30 days to use your credit from the date you were approved.
How long will I have to be on the phone to finish my application?
As long as you’ve got some valid ID to hand, you’ll be done in less than five minutes.
What payment do I need to make upfront?
You just need to pay the first month of your agreement up front and the rest will be taken care of in your monthly payments.
What ID do I need to bring?
Valid forms of ID are either a driving licence with your current address or your passport AND a utility bill with your name and current address.
What happens at the end of my cctv-RENT agreement?
At the end of your rental plan, you can simply choose to return your equipment and update to the latest technology, continue renting, or you have the flexibility to offer to buy the equipment at its "fair market value".++
What is "fair market value"?
It's the price you'd expect to pay for your equipment in the market place.
Can I cancel the agreement?
A cctv-RENT agreement is a fixed term contract. If you cancel, you must pay out the balance of the agreement.
How do I make my monthly payments?
Monthly payments are directly debited from your nominated bank account.
What is the interest rate?
The agreement is a rental of the equipment, not a loan agreement or a hire purchase agreement, therefore what you pay is a monthly rental for the equipment, not interest.
What is the duration of a cctv-RENT plan?
Either 2, 3 or 4 years dependent on your requirements.
What happens if the equipment breaks down outside the manufacturers' warranty period?
It is your responsibility to maintain the equipment throughout the rental term. Why not add your retailers Extended Warranty Plan which can be included in your rental agreement?
Do I need insurance?
To protect you from loss, cctv-RENT requires all rented equipment to be insured. You may use your own insurance if rental equipment is covered on your policy, or alternatively you can choose to cover cctv-RENT Accidental Damage and Theft Protection Plan.
What options do I have at the end of my rental period?
You have four options. You can choose from the following:
Upgrade your current equipment and start a new agreement with cctv-RENT. We can also offer 12 months free if you choose to upgrade within the last 12 months of your term
Purchase your equipment. At the end of your term, we will look at the market value of your equipment and let you know how much you will need to pay for your equipment.
Start another rental agreement once your current agreement has finished. You can also choose to upgrade your equipment at the same time
Return your equipment to cctv-RENT at the end of your term.
Can I claim tax back on my rental equipment?
Yes you can. And if you’re a business you can claim up to 100% tax back. To find out more, visit www.ato.gov.au
How much will I have to pay up front when I start my rental contract?
Once you have chosen your equipment CCTV System and have agreed to your monthly payments and terms and conditions, you will need to pay the first month’s payment in store before you can take your equipment. Please ensure you bring your credit or debit card with you when you visit the retailer store.
Installation?
Installation of CCTV System is not covered under cctv-RENT. This will be invoiced separately & must be paid up front.

Existing Customer FAQs
Can I pay by BPAY?
BPAY is not a payment option currently available for your cctv-RENT contract. Payments can be made by Direct Debit from your nominated bank account or via a credit or debit card. Contact our Customer Care team on (08) 9248 7111 to set up your preferred payment method.
How can I make an ad hoc payment to clear arrears?
You can contact the Collections Department on (08) 9248 7111to pay immediately by debit or credit card or you can arrange a direct debit from a nominated bank account.
My equipment has been lost/stolen, what do I do?
Refer to your insurance policy. If you purchased RentSmart Protection Plan please call the Warranty Group on 1300 666 649.
My equipment is not working, what do I do?
If the equipment is under manufacturer’s warranty you need to refer to the authorised repairer as detailed in the warranty information. If cctv-RENT Protection Plan was purchased and the manufacturer’s warranty has expired, please call the Warranty Group on (08) 9248 7111. If the warranty has lapsed you will need to organize the repair of the equipment at your own expense.
How do I get an invoice for Tax purposes?
You’ve already got one. Your signed Rental Agreement serves as a tax invoice.
How do I cancel my contract?
You can cancel your contract at any time by paying the outstanding balance (remainder of the rentals for the term of the contract) and returning or purchasing the equipment. Please call (08) 9248 7111 for more information.
I am experiencing Financial Hardship, what should I do?
Call cctv-RENT on (08) 9248 7111. We will assess your financial situation and work with you to assist you to meet your contractual obligation.
How do I give authorisation for someone else to discuss my contract?
Please complete the Letter of Authority Form, sign and return to cctv-RENT by fax, email or post. You can access the Letter of Authority form by clicking here.
Can I change the payment date of my contract?
You can pay the installment prior to the due date on a monthly basis.
Can I pay weekly or fortnightly instead of monthly?
No, your instalment is processed monthly.
I need to delay my installment, what do I do?
Call cctv-RENT on (08) 9248 7111 to organise a payment extension. An extension fee of $35 will be charged if 14 days notice is not provided.
I have changed my contact details, what should I do?
Please call cctv-RENT on (08) 9248 7111 to update our records.
My Credit Card has expired; do I need to provide cctv-RENT with new details?
Yes, please call (08) 9248 7111
Can I transfer the contract to someone else’s name?
No, the legal entity of the contract cannot be transferred.
